In November 2024, Carmen was honored to receive the James Duane Award from the United States District Court, Southern District of New York. The District Court recognized her work mediating a very contentious cross-border dispute conducted entirely in Spanish with pro se litigants on both sides.

Carmen was one of the three mediators honored on behalf of a 220-mediator panel.
